iRacing staff has published a temporary calendar for 2022 Special Events which shows an impressive list of events with different cars and tracks. More notable absences are Le Mans (as the last year due to ACO commitments with other developers) and GTE cars which have been somehow proscribed in favor of GT3 cars.

The 2022 iRacing Special Events calendar once again offers a diverse and expanded schedule of events for our iRacing members. More details and specifics will be released for each event roughly 1 month prior to the event. Updated for 2022, Qualifying Scrutiny has been turned up to Strict from Moderate.
Splits:
All events with the exception of the Indy 500s (Fixed and Open) will have attached qualifying and be split by iRating. This allows for the full use of the Dynamic Weather engine for these events. The Indy 500s will have detached qualifying with static weather to replicate the real world counterpart as close as possible. At this time it is not possible to have static qualifying and dynamic race weather for these detached sessions.
We will also be utilizing iRacing Super Sessions to set the field for the Knoxville, Crandon, and Chili Bowl events.
As always, iRacing reserves the right to make changes if we deem them necessary. In the event a change is required, iRacing will work in good faith to provide as much notice as possible. This includes both car and track selection. Finial vehicle lineups will be announced a month prior to the event to allow for changes as new content comes out throughout the year.
Thanks and we will see you on the track!
