tempest 02

We are all set. Here’s the new season with free (and paid) road tracks and cars, IA racing roster improved, rain, etc. The complete release notes are available in a post published this week.

It’s the moment you’ve been anticipating for ages: iRacing 2024 Season 2 is officially here, and with it comes the release of our Tempest weather system that includes rain. But that’s not all—with multiple new cars and tracks, user experience improvements, and much more, the list of new content is overflowing. Here’s a look at some of what to expect:

  • Tempest Weather System and Rain Racing: Our all-new weather system brings forecasted settings and custom timelines to road racing tracks and many of our most popular cars, from the full lineup of IMSA GTP and GT3s to rookie-level machines like the Ray FF1600 and Toyota GR86. • Algarve International Circuit: iRacing takes its first trip to Portugal with the addition of Portimão! The track includes both Grand Prix and Moto layouts, and each can be used with or without chicanes.
  • Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli: iRacing’s latest Italian circuit features five layouts, including multiple historic and short configurations.
  • Millbridge Speedway: Millbridge is the Charlotte-area quarter-mile dirt oval where NASCAR stars come to play between races—and now it’s yours on iRacing!
  • Superstar Racing Experience: Equipped with both pavement and dirt tires, just like in the real world, the SRX car puts you to the test on short ovals with a uniquely fun driving experience.
  • Dirt Micro Sprint: Featuring both winged and non-winged variants, the Micro Sprint is iRacing’s newest FREE car and gives dirt oval racers a fun new starting point!
  • Additional Base Content: Alongside the Dirt Micro Sprint, Ledenon, Oschersleben, Snetterton, and Winton have been added to the iRacing base package to give road racers a more comprehensive global track lineup.
  • Road License Type Split: From now on, Sports Car and Formula races will affect separate iRating and Safety Rating scores to improve participation, competition, and matchmaking. Your former Road license ratings carry over to both new license types initially, while your previous Road stats will remain on your profile as a retired license type.
  • New Driver Onboarding Experience: It’s easier to get on iRacing than ever with an all-new onboarding experience that walks new users through their first race!
  • Visual Refresh: A new styling and format provides a more focused approach to your iRacing UI experience.
  • 3D Curbs and Foliage: Fuji and Sebring have had 3D curbs added, while Algarve and Misano ship with 3D foliage.
  • Existing Track Updates: Lime Rock Park has a new School layout to teach racers the basics of road racing, while Kokomo Speedway has a new variant with the infield tires out.
  • New Damage Model: Along with all the new cars, the GTE and LMP1 classes, Cadillac CTS-V and Kia Optima, Dirt Midget, Volkswagen Beetle and Beetle Lite, Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, and legacy Dallara DW12 and IR-05 all have the NDM enabled.
  • AI Racing: This season’s AI racing is headlined by rain as well, as everything that’s both rain and AI-enabled will work. For a full list of AI unlocks, click here.
  • New Setups: Hundreds of setups, including rain-ready sets for all rain-enabled cars, are available with the new build.
