iRacing: 2024 Season 4 Patch 2 Hotfix 1 Release Notes

The 2024 Season 4 Patch 2 Hotfix 1 is here!

This release is a Patch that contains fixes and updates for the 2024 Season 4 Release.

SIMULATION:

iRacing Weather System

  • For Forecasted Weather Mode, fixed an issue where cloud cover and rain predictions were being calculated incorrectly in the short term.
  • – – This fixes an issue where the Spotter would continually call out upcoming weather changes incorrectly. Please be advised that your Spotter is not a meteorologist – he’s just doing the best he can.

Heat Racing

  • Fixed an issue where the track surface temperature could spike an extra 45°F if a Session within a Heat Racing event was skipped. This is not what was meant by “heat” racing!

Graphics

  • Fixed an issue with rain-enabled car windshields where extremely dramatic and opaque sunspot shines or shadow flares could appear on the glass.
  • Fixed an issue where chrome and brushed wheels could appear black in interface images.
  • Fixed an issue where some cars appeared to have lost their windshield glass in the paint shop.

Audio

  • Improved the sounds for rumble saw-tooth curbs.
  • Fixed an issue where many engine starter sounds would fail to play.

Telemetry

  • Some values for the Push-to-Pass system (P2P) have been added to telemetry.
  • – – P2P_Count = Displays the total number of seconds of P2P remaining.
  • – – P2P_Status = Displays if the P2P system is active.

CARS:

Lotus 49

  • The brake bias adjustment increment has been reduced from 0.5% to 0.25%.

McLaren 720S GT3 EVO

  • Aerodynamic drag has been increased slightly, clutch inertia has been increased, and engine inertia has been decreased to match information from McLaren.

NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Camry

  • For the damage model, fixed an issue with the attachment points for the front fenders.

NASCAR Cup Series Next Gen Ford Mustang

  • Adjusted the lighting properties on the metallic nose strip.

NASCAR Xfinity Ford Mustang

  • Adjusted the lighting properties on the metallic nose strip.

TRACKS:

Daytona International Speedway

  • (Road Course) – The slowdown penalty at the first left curb in the Bus Stop has been relaxed slightly. Drivers now need 2 tires in the grass at the center of the apex to trigger the slowdown penalty.

Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg

  • For all configs that use the main pit lane, the safe entry rule has been tightened up. Cars now must clear the racing surface before the green painted area.

Watkins Glen International

  • Some missing water drains have been added.
