iRacing’s updated iOS and Android app introduces a redesigned interface, changes to navigation, improved synchronization and a rebuilt technical foundation.
iRacing has released Companion App 3.0, updating its iOS and Android application with a new interface, changes to its underlying architecture and closer synchronization with the main iRacing service. The app still provides access to schedules, upcoming races, results, statistics, leagues and content, along with reminders and service notifications.
Favorites and social data now sync with iRacing
One of the biggest changes in Companion App 3.0 is how information is shared between the mobile app and iRacing. Favorites for cars, tracks, series and leagues can now remain synchronized across services.
Social data is also included. Friends, followed drivers and pending friend requests are now shared with iRacing rather than relying as heavily on information stored only within the Companion App.
This should reduce discrepancies between preferences and social information shown on mobile and elsewhere in the service.
Companion App 3.0 introduces a redesigned interface

The update also changes the app’s interface and several navigation flows.
Users can continue to browse series, upcoming races, schedules and session information. Driver profiles, licences, statistics, results and leagues remain available. The calendar displays official series by week alongside upcoming sessions, while reminders can be created for races and league events.
The app also continues to send service notifications, including notices about scheduled maintenance.
Companion App 3.0 is more than a visual redesign. iRacing has changed parts of the application’s architecture and the systems responsible for managing and synchronizing data. The update also includes localization and language-support improvements and other smaller usability changes.
The technical work is intended to provide a newer foundation for future development and maintenance of the app.
Race planning and statistics remain available

The main race-planning tools remain in place after the update.
Users can view series schedules, upcoming races and results, alongside driver statistics, licences and league information.
Information about iRacing’s cars and tracks is also available, while favorites and reminders can be used to keep frequently followed content easier to access.
Not every response to Companion App 3.0 has been positive. Some users have reported longer loading times and problems during app initialization, while others have raised issues with certain filters and changes to navigation.
The reports appear to vary by device and user. Others have reported normal operation after installing the update.
At the time of writing, iRacing has not identified the reports as a widespread Companion App 3.0 issue.
