iRacing: “If you are an old member, you must pay Laguna Seca”

If you remember, iRacing signed a new agreement with the owners of Laguna Seca. As a result, the track was removed from the base package in September last year. Now, it appears that every account that originally received the track as part of that base package must pay for the new version of the content.

We’re excited to share that WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. The new version will be available with the Season Build on June 9, 2026.

Because this is essentially a brand-new track, we will be retiring the original version that was first released in 2008.

What does this mean for you?

If you licensed Laguna Seca:

You will automatically receive the new version when the build goes live, no action needed.

If your access to Laguna Seca came from the base content package prior to September 2025:

Laguna Seca became paid content in September 2025 and was no longer part of the base content package. Members who have had access to Laguna Seca through the base content package (accounts purchased prior to September 25, 2025) will need to license the new version of Laguna Seca to continue racing it.

This has naturally sparked a debate on the iRacing forums, where users are questioning what appears to be a reversal of the decision to keep Laguna Seca free for members who originally received it as part of the base package.

A large number of accounts are affected, and those users will now have to spend additional money either to access the newly rescanned version of the track.
