The pandemic and the current situation has left many work teams with a major problem as they are unable to travel. Circuit scanning is important to the people on iRacing and as we have seen, Hockenheim will be the first to be relied upon to delegate that responsibility and rely on third party data. This won’t be the only case we’ll encounter for sure, but at least we know that other circuits coming into development will be closer to what we’re used to.
As far as we know both the Nashville Fairgrounds and Weedsport Speedway will be part of the next batch of oval tracks. Work is also continuing on Crandon, Long Beach and Coca Cola Superspeedway as well as more Rallycross tracks.
The graphic improvements that will be included in these circuits have details such as the new grass model, which will also be progressively added to the old circuits, such as Mount Panorama or Interlagos.
We also know that a new scanned LMP2 of the original Dallara P217 is being worked on and is unlikely to arrive now in September. The intention is to replace the old HPD which has almost 10 years in service.
At the moment there is not much more to tell, but with a little more than a month left for the release of this new build it is expected that all the details will be shown and certified as the days and weeks go by.
