iRacing – Season 3 Content Confirmed

To start nothing better than to start dispelling the rumors about the new iRacing build will incorporate in two weeks. A build that is expected to be tough and complicated after some strange months in which we have all had to change our habits.

NEW VEHICLES

Six new vehicles will join the iRacing garage in June. Three oval cars;1987 NASCARs to complement North Wilkesboro and the Ford F-150 pickup we were announcing this week.

Ford F-150

On the road side we find the two Tatuus that were announced a couple of months ago to complement the low formula categories and the BMW GT4 for IMSA PILOT CHALLENGE.

The detailed list below:

  • Chevrolet SS Montecarlo
  • Ford Thunderbird
  • Ford F-150
  • BMW GT4
  • F2000
  • Indy Pro 2000

These two cars will replace the veteran Star / Pro Mazda, a car that has disappeared from the real grills for years and whose replacement we have been waiting for years since its scan was announced. The other will be placed in the rookie formula series, to replace the F3 in its crazy and chaotic participation in series D.

NEW TRACKS

Road America’s face-lift started a few weeks ago when we looked at the curious gun advertisement at the carousel entrance. The video with the repaving and the new textures awaits in just a few days. In the oval side it can be confirmed that there is also an update from Kentucky.

North Wilkesboro

The work during confinement have forced the retake of the Long Beach project, the track that was scanned many years ago and can be purchased for $5. It was abandoned at the time because of the poor performance it could have when representing so many buildings, but times have changed and PCs are much more competent for what. Anyway it is something very complex and there are still no dates of any kind for a supposed release.

In just two weeks the agreement with a great European circuit with the FIA rating 1 will be announced. My bets go to Jerez, which has already appeared in Automobilista 2 and meets the requirements, although perhaps if we were a native we would have been told by the people of Cádiz. Hopefully, as travel conditions improve, many of the jobs from the long list of road circuits waiting to be scanned and included will be resumed.

And last but not least, there will be an LMP2 this year, so the kids at the HPD can already say goodbye to their prototype, their latest LeMans. Of course content is still being developed for Dirt in its two variants, so fans of these disciplines can rest easy.

To all this we must add that there will be improvements, bugfixes, corrections, model of tires and who knows how many more things than we will have more idea when there is a list of changes to resort to.

See you on the track!

  • While I’m happy to see them adding all this new content, what iRacing really needs to do is to update their 2008 aging graphics engine. Compared to a program like Asseto Corsa Competizione using the Unreal engine, iRacing’s graphics look extremely old and dated. With all of the money that they’ve taken in recently with new subscriptions, this should be their top priority.

  • Sort of agree too...but ACCs specific implementation might not be the best model as it is horrible from a performance standpoint I run 5700xt on low settings to make it reasonable to play (so probably looks worse than iRacing :-) ...but agree with general point around dated graphics

  • I think it would be worse for them. Doing a game that asks an expensive computer, probably they would lose newcomers, mainly in countries with a difficult economy, like me in Brazil. The annual renewal is already expensive. Think how diificult it would be to afford buying new parts for a PC, or an all-new PC...

  • Please NO, ACC is totally shit , to heavy to be gamed easy by everyone and the graphic of Iracing is enough .
