iRacing: What’s happening with the Misano Circuit?

Known for its flat layout with challenging technical sections, it has hosted numerous prestigious racing events, including MotoGP and World Superbike. In the world of iRacing, however, Misano seems to be struggling with low participation.

Despite the usual popularity of the IMSA series, only one race has had two splits and only six out of sixteen races have gone official.

Paid Track?

Another critical factor is that Misano is a new paid track. This highlights a significant issue: if a track is not frequently featured in popular series.

Many users prioritize tracks that appear regularly in their preferred series. Misano, being a relatively new addition to the platform, hasn’t yet achieved widespread ownership.

Learning Curve?

Misano’s strengths lie in its demanding technical sections which, while enjoyable for some, may be daunting for others, especially those who are new to the track or prefer circuits with more straightforward layouts.

The initial difficulty in achieving competitive lap times can discourage participation, especially in a competitive series like IMSA.

From the community insights and other series participation, it’s clear that lack of track ownership, the new paid track dynamics, the track’s learning curve, and competition with more popular events are major contributing factors to Misano’s lukewarm reception this week.
