The announcement of the US Track Pass for Le Mans Ultimate marks an important moment for Studio 397 and Motorsport Games’ simulator. Until now, the title has been closely tied to the world of the WEC, Le Mans, and European endurance racing. With this expansion, the game crosses the Atlantic and opens the door to a much more ambitious stage, designed to attract a community that also lives for Daytona, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, and Watkins Glen.
The key is not just adding new circuits, but expanding the scope of the entire project. Le Mans Ultimate no longer feels like an experience focused only on Europe. It is beginning to behave like a global endurance racing platform.
The first pack will arrive with two heavyweight names: Daytona International Speedway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Personally, I think this is a very smart choice. Daytona represents speed, banking, and the extreme management of aerodynamic load. Laguna Seca, on the other hand, is technical, narrow, and full of character thanks to the legendary Corkscrew.
They are two very different circuits, and that is exactly why they work so well as an introduction. One will test the stability of Hypercars on long straights and banked corners. The other will force drivers to calculate every overtake in multiclass traffic, especially when prototypes and GT cars share such a compact track.
They will be joined by other American venues such as Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Indianapolis Road Course, and Long Beach. The list makes a lot of competitive sense: it combines speed, technical sections, close walls, elevation changes, and historic endurance racing DNA.
One of the most interesting aspects is that the content is presented as the US Track Pass, not as an official IMSA package. That naming choice says a lot. Studio 397 can license the circuits directly without using the branding, visual identity, or class structure of the North American championship.
This does bring some limitations. We should not expect a fully official IMSA recreation, nor every car, livery, or category specific to that series. However, the technical convergence between WEC and IMSA still makes it possible to recreate races that feel very close to the real thing, especially with cars such as the Porsche 963, Cadillac V-Series.R, BMW M Hybrid V8, Ferrari 296 GT3, and Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
This expansion also arrives at a key moment for the game’s engine. Recent updates have improved tyres, temperatures, Balance of Performance, and overall car response. But the real test will come with version 1.4, which is expected to strengthen the multiplayer infrastructure and support large grids close to 62 cars.
For me, this is the decisive point. Endurance racing does not feel the same with small grids. Daytona, Road Atlanta, and Le Mans need traffic, strategy, tension, and controlled chaos. If Studio 397 can deliver stable online racing with many cars on track, the leap in quality could be huge.
Sim racing is currently going through a period of brutal competition. iRacing, Rennsport, RaceRoom, Gran Turismo 7, and other projects are fighting for circuits, licenses, physics, and players. In that context, Motorsport Games had to move decisively.
The US Track Pass does not feel like a simple DLC, but like a statement of intent. It is a way of saying that Le Mans Ultimate does not want to remain a European niche simulator, but aims to become a global reference for endurance racing.
If the price is reasonable, the content arrives well optimized, and version 1.4 delivers on its promises, this expansion could be exactly the push the game needs. As a fan, what excites me most is not only the idea of racing at Daytona or Laguna Seca, but imagining full championships, packed grids, and races where every lap carries that unpredictable flavor only endurance racing can provide.
