Motorsport Games has swapped Le Mans Ultimate’s two August Special Events. Spa moves forward to next weekend, Daytona slips to Gamescom week, and three unnamed venues remain on the calendar.
Le Mans Ultimate’s official Special Events calendar for the rest of 2026 was updated on 6 August, and the change is small in print but significant if you race these things with a team.
The two August events have been swapped. What was scheduled as the 8 Hours of Daytona in the week commencing 11 August is now the 4 Hours of Spa. What was scheduled as the 4 Hours of Spa in the week commencing 25 August is now the 8 Hours of Daytona International Speedway. Both entries carry a “NEW DATE” flag on the official calendar.
Spa has moved forward by two weeks. If you had a crew lined up for the last weekend of August, you are now racing next weekend.
That matters more here than it would in most sims. Special Events in Le Mans Ultimate are driverswap races, run as team relays rather than solo entries. Fielding one means agreeing a line-up, dividing stints, covering time zones and making sure somebody competent is in the car for the critical phases. Going from three weeks of preparation to one is a genuine squeeze, and league organisers running internal sign-ups will need to move today.
One further point that trips people up every time: the dates published are week commencing, not race days. Special Events run Friday through Sunday. The 4 Hours of Spa therefore falls across roughly 14 to 16 August, and the 8 Hours of Daytona across 28 to 30 August.
The August line-up as it now stands
- w/c 11 August, 4 Hours of Spa. ELMS LMP2, LMP3 and LMGT3.
- w/c 25 August, 8 Hours of Daytona International Speedway. Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3.
Note the class split. Spa is the ELMS-flavoured event, which means no Hypercars and the LMP3 class in play. Daytona is the WEC-classed one, with the top category included. If you were building a crew around a specific car, check which event actually uses it before committing.
Why the swap, probably
Motorsport Games has not given a reason, so what follows is reading the situation rather than reporting it.
Daytona is the newer of the two circuits, having arrived with the US Track Pack alongside the V1.4 update at the end of July. It is also the longer and more demanding event of the pair at eight hours, with the full Hypercar field.
And Le Mans Ultimate’s history with large-scale Special Events is not spotless. Previous attempts, including the first running of the 24 Hours in November, were beset by technical problems. V1.4 was the update that laid the technical groundwork for 62-car grids and round-the-clock events precisely because of that. Giving the bigger, newer, more technically demanding event two extra weeks of headroom is the obvious explanation, and probably the right call.
The part worth paying attention to
When this calendar was first published in June, it contained five events with the venue listed only as TBA. The community read them, correctly, as placeholders for content that had not yet been announced.
Two have since been filled in. The 4 Hours in the week of 28 July became Laguna Seca, arriving with the US Track Pack. The 8 Hours in the week of 11 August became Daytona, from the same pack, and has now moved to 25 August.
Three remain unnamed:
- w/c 22 September, 4 Hours TBA. Hypercar and LMGT3.
- w/c 6 October, 10 Hours TBA. Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3.
- w/c 15 December, 6 Hours TBA. Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3.
The October entry is the interesting one, and the clue is the duration.
Ten hours is an unusual race length. Four, six, eight, twelve and twenty-four are the standard endurance formats. Ten is not, with one famous exception: Petit Le Mans, held at Road Atlanta, which runs to ten hours and takes place in early October in the real world.
Duration, timing and the ongoing North American content push all line up. It is a deduction rather than a leak, and Motorsport Games has confirmed nothing, but if you were placing a bet on which circuit fills that slot, Road Atlanta is where the evidence points.
The remaining two are harder to call. A four-hour Hypercar and LMGT3 event in late September has no obvious real-world twin, and a six-hour event in mid-December sits outside the racing calendar entirely.
The rest of the year
Beyond August, the schedule runs as follows:

- w/c 15 September, 4 Hours of Silverstone. ELMS LMP2, LMP3, LMGT3.
- w/c 22 September, 4 Hours TBA. Hypercar, LMGT3.
- w/c 29 September, 6 Hours of Fuji. Hypercar, LMGT3.
- w/c 6 October, 10 Hours TBA. Hypercar, WEC LMP2, LMGT3.
- w/c 13 October, 4 Hours of Portimao. ELMS LMP2, LMP3, LMGT3.
- w/c 20 October, 24 Hours of Le Mans. Hypercar, WEC LMP2, LMGT3.
- w/c 10 November, 8 Hours of Bahrain. Hypercar, LMGT3.
- w/c 1 December, 6 Hours of Silverstone. Hypercar, LMGT3.
- w/c 15 December, 6 Hours TBA. Hypercar, WEC LMP2, LMGT3.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans on the week of 20 October remains the centrepiece, and the one the V1.4 groundwork was really built for.
What to do this week
If you race these events, three things.
- Confirm your crew now. Spa is in eight days, not twenty-two. Anyone relying on the June calendar is currently a fortnight out.
- Check the class list before you practise. Spa is an ELMS event. No Hypercars, LMP3 included.
- Watch the schedule page rather than assume. This is the second time the calendar has been amended since publication, once to name venues and once to move dates. Exact time slots are published closer to each event.
If you have been putting off getting into endurance racing with a team, the swap is arguably a favour. A four-hour ELMS event is a considerably gentler entry point than eight hours at Daytona, and it now comes first.
