More news about iRacing and future content. Oval dirt was somehow hidden for most of simracers and this alliance try to solve and attract more drivers to the ovals. Here we have the agreement announcement.
iRacing and the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series today announced a partnership to bring multiple off-road eSports series to the online racing service. The new series will feature both Pro-4 and Pro-2 trucks on iconic tracks including Wild West Motorsports Park and Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park with additional tracks to be added in the near future.
The partnership aligns the premier off-road racing series with the premier online racing simulation and will deliver racing experience never before available in the online arena.
“I had the opportunity to drive a Pro-2 truck several years ago and was immediately hooked – I knew we had to add this to iRacing,” said Steve Myers, executive vice-president and executive producer, iRacing. “This is the right time for us to add off-road racing as we have spent years perfecting our dirt model which is featured in both oval and rallycross racing. Our dirt surfaces are dynamic, and change based on how the cars are interacting with them, which is a big part of a Lucas Oil Off-Road race. Plus, this form of racing is just plain exciting – our members are going to love it.”
iRacing is planning to release the new vehicles and tracks in its next quarterly update, scheduled for early June. Additional tracks will be added in the coming months and years.
“We are thrilled to have this partnership with the clear leader in eSports racing, iRacing,” said Lucas Oils Director of Racing Operations, Ritchie Lewis. “When we look for partnerships, we value authenticity and a passion for motorsports – iRacing checks both of those boxes. This is an exciting opportunity to expose more race fans to Lucas Oil Off-Road racing and let them experience it first-hand.”
