The simracing team Team Redline has uploaded an exclusive video to their X account, in which Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen shares his thoughts on the differences between racing in a simulator and racing in a real car.

This video comes after his involvement in the 24 Hours of Daytona, where Verstappen participated in the virtual endurance race.

In the video, Verstappen highlights one of the main differences: the sensation of G-forces in a real car.

The biggest difference is the G-forces; in a real car, you feel everything. You can get a bit closer with a motion cockpit, but it’s not necessary in the moment,” he explains.

The Formula 1 champion also points out the similarities between simracing strategies and real-life tactics, such as handling weather conditions.

“It’s very similar, especially when it rains. In the sim, you check the radar and adjust your strategy, just like you do in real life. It’s quite comparable,” Verstappen adds.

This video provides an interesting perspective on how simracing and real-life F1 share more similarities than many might think, while also emphasizing the skill and precision required from drivers, whether they’re in the simulator or on the track.
