Max Verstappen Returns to the World of Sim Racing This Weekend

Max Verstappen‘s second place finish at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is still haunting him. The Dutch driver is not comfortable outside the top step of the podium, and despite his impressive comeback under the Jeddah sky, it hasn’t been enough to quench his thirst for victories.

iRacing community users have noticed the presence of the Red Bull driver in the GT3 category. The Sebring circuit was the stage for the latest cup in the simulator, and Verstappen’s numbers match his name.

He achieved a streak of 10 consecutive victories, one of which with a lead of almost 20 seconds over the second place.

The screenshot shared by Reddit user u/LongShlongSilvrPants shows that in one of the races, Max Verstappen was able to beat Alex Palou by 5.871 seconds.

Less than 24 hours after the Saudi Arabian GP, Max Verstappen was on iRacing competing in GT3s at Sebring. He went on to win the next 10 out of 10 races, going as far as pulling out a +19.818 gap in a 5616 SOF race.

Max Verstappen will be participating in the virtual 12 Hours of Sebring this weekend. The Dutch driver will be piloting a Ferrari 488 GT3 for his simracing team Redline.

A well-known teammate for Verstappen Verstappen’s teammate is also not an unknown name. IndyCar driver Alex Palou, the 2021 World Champion and reserve driver for the McLaren Formula 1 team, will alternate with Verstappen during the virtual race.
