After winning another race at the British Grand Prix, Max Verstappen didn’t take a break from racing. As a hobby, the Dutch driver kept practicing on a racing simulator to stay sharp, even when he wasn’t busy with Red Bull Racing commitments. Throughout the year, the world champion participated in a virtual competition called the ‘Golden Toast GP’ with his team, RedLine, and they dominated the race, taking the first two positions in the three-hour event.
However, things took an unexpected turn during the virtual race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit when Verstappen got involved in a controversial incident. While battling with a rival driver, Verstappen deliberately crashed into him as payback for an earlier on-track contact. This incident happened just 46 laps before the end of the race, forcing Verstappen to retire from the competition at the Belgian circuit.

Over an hour into the intense race, Verstappen was fighting hard for the third spot when Sven Hasse made a mistake on the main straight. Hasse braked too late into the first corner, causing him to lose several positions. Seeing an opportunity, Verstappen accelerated from Kemmel Straight to Les Combes and used the escape road to his advantage in the right turn.

With this move, Verstappen positioned himself right behind Hasse and forcefully collided with him from the rear, sending Hasse off the track. The controversial maneuver sparked discussions among fans, fellow drivers, and experts, raising questions about fair play and sportsmanship in virtual racing.

It’s important to understand that while virtual racing allows professional drivers like Max Verstappen to indulge in their passion outside official events, it also comes with responsibilities. These competitions attract a wide audience and often involve both professional and amateur racers. It’s crucial for all participants to uphold the values of fair competition and show respect for their fellow racers.
In the real world of Formula 1, Verstappen has been a great example of sportsmanship, showcasing his talent and competitive spirit without resorting to unsportsmanlike conduct. However, virtual racing presents new challenges, and it’s essential for drivers to remember that their actions can significantly impact the reputation of the sport.
As virtual racing gains popularity and recognition, organizers, teams, and drivers must maintain a code of conduct that reflects the values of traditional motorsport. Encouraging fair racing, respectful competition, and responsible behavior will ensure that virtual racing continues to be an exciting and enjoyable experience for drivers and fans alike.

W4nker. Max think he is God’s gift to the world.
Not sure Max has shown any sportsmanship in real-life or virtual-life, until this year he would just run people out of room on any corner in F1 so not surprised to see this. LMAO!!!
Yawn
