Mazda European MX-5 Cup

Some people has been asking to iRacing staff for the new Mazda European cup. What was the purpose of splitting MX-5 drivers? Here you have the answer.

Mazda Motor Europe has launched the Mazda European MX-5 Cup using the iRacing online race platform. This 12 week series (March 15th – June 6th) invites iRacers from select European countries to race the all new MAZDA MX-5.

This competition challenges the best iRacers in Europe to compete in the new mk4 MX-5 on 12 different circuits iRacing provides in the basic membership package.
At the end of the 12 week competition, the top 20 in points will be invited to participate in a Final Championship Race. This will conclude the Mazda European MX-5 Cup and identify the top three drivers of the series. These 3 qualify for the European Final in Barcelona.

Road to Barcelona
The top three racers will be invited to the European MX-5 Final in Barcelona, Spain from July 1 – 4 2016. The 3 iRacers will be assessed on their real world driving abilities on a real race track, with the best iRacer qualifying for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; a place in the MX-5 Global Cup Final at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Final stage: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
The European MX-5 Cup winner and guest will travel to California to compete against real world racers in the real world MX-5 Global Cup Final at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Per Mazda Europe, this competition will be open only to those that have an address in the following countries listed upon signup to iRacing. If you do not see your country and you are from Europe, you will NOT be eligible. Please understand that this is the approved country list that we have received from Mazda Europe. iRacing was not a part of selecting countries.
