Michael Fassbender – Sim Racing Setup

Michael Fassbender is a well-known actor of all kinds of blockbusters. He has always been passionate about cars, and a few years ago he had the opportunity to be on a flight with fellow actor Patrick Dempsey, who had decided to embark on an exciting career in motor racing.

Dempsey has a very good relationship with Porsche, having first been a driver, and now co-owner of the Dempsey-Proton team that races in many endurance events around the world. Dempsey’s contacts at Porsche served to open the appropriate doors for Michael who, backed by a good current account, has been able to debut in several major competitions, and to do so with some success.

All this adventure of Fassbender with Porsche can be seen in the Youtube series Road to Le Mans that we will not spoil here, and that shows the Irish driver in different facets of the world of competition. In one of the chapters he talks briefly about the preparation off the track, and for this he goes to one of the trusted simulators for the representation of his mount. Porsche RSR 991 in iRacing using a team that we describe below.

Fassbender has a relatively simple simulator, and by the time that have some components one would say that it has long been good at simRacing. We see a cockpit and seat belong to Sim-Lab.eu. Simucube 1 or VRS base, now a little more obsolete than a SC2 Pro, with Ultimate pedals from Heusinkveld. As we can see it is complemented with a triple monitor mount of 27 inches from ASUS (we have linked you a DELL of very good quality) and to facilitate its maneuverability in the seat, a Logitech keyboard and some headphones that we can’t identify as audio equipment. A PC completes the set to move everything with the necessary fluidity.
