Update: as Efrain said in comments, settings are for small MiGe and Beano profile.
I usually don’t play with MMOS settings. Once you find a good configuration giving you a solid confidence in what you are doing, moving and testing become more difficult and harder. Anyway iRacing is not the only sim I played with last months and at least some people will find very interesting using others too.
Remember load only, don’t save to EEPROM which has limited writes unless you want to used it by default.

iRacing: This is simple, check linear mode, FFB enabled and damping oscillations. 0 min force and 0 damping and set your strength to your desired force (mine it’s between 48 and 55nm)

Hey gonzalo, there articles are breeze of fresh air when first starting to set up an OSW. However, because of each servo being different (e.g. Are those settings for a small mige or for the kollmorgen in the picture? Also, the ffb is initially determined by the current value in Granity software. Then can be limited by Mmos and then the IRacing slider’s value in linear Nm affects the force inversely, so a higher number results in actually less force in the sim.
It would be great to have a bit of a deep dive to demystify how ffb. Since you have a great community here reading about osw, may I suggest inviting some guests to clarify the topic? Active community members like Beano and Jason J, and suppliers like Tomo could provide input that you can edit into one of these awesome articles you write.
Let me know if I can help in any way,
Ef
Yep, small Mige with Beano default profile.
I already offered many times to write more technical details or considerations about OSW and Direct Drive wheels. We have been always open to publish anything to help or clarify these points. Jason, Beano and specially Tomo are free to write here π really everybody can help us writing articles or post about FFB topic.
Thank you Efrain!
Hi, I was a relief to find some info on settings, I bought a full motions sim and its a nightmare true nightmare to sort out. I have absolutely no clue how to even start and what all the settings mean. Is there a benchmark upon which to start. Please help
This is not for motion but the Open Sim Wheel compatible builds. If you are using motion you should contact with your provider and ask for support. Every motion system has its own software to be managed.
