Telemetry is a technology that allows remote measurement of physical quantities for later analysis. Applied in the motorsport world, it will allow us to gather all the information provided by the vehicle to analyze desired aspects like car behaviors that affect the dynamics of the vehicle or driver inputs.
In this article, we collect some interesting speed maths. Speed maths can improve your aero, analyze track turns and sections.
You can use MoTec or other software you like. In this article, we show you how to install MoTec on iRacing.
Max Speed per Lap
- What is your max speed at straight line?

Min Speed per Lap
- What is your min speed at slow corners?

AVG Speed per Lap
- What is your average speed per lap?

If you want to show all this information in one chart, you can use a Channel Report to see all speeds per lap.

That’s some nice formulars, but MoTeC has build in features to show min/max/avg on a certain chart as well.
