Motorsport Games Inc. has announced that its board is exploring strategic alternatives, including a potential sale or merger.

Official notes:

Miami-based Motorsport Games Inc. (NASDAQ: MSGM), a prominent developer of racing games, has announced that its Board of Directors is exploring strategic alternatives, including a potential sale or merger, to maximize shareholder value. Known for its official racing series games such as Le Mans Ultimate, the company is also seeking additional funding to expand its offerings to gaming consoles.

This decision follows recent restructuring efforts aimed at reducing cash expenditures and improving efficiency. CEO Stephen Hood emphasized that the restructuring has made Motorsport Games more agile and focused, preserving key talent while positioning the company for future growth. Notably, the company launched Le Mans Ultimate on PC platforms in February 2024 and has been involved in F1 Arcade.

Despite the ongoing review process, no specific outcomes are guaranteed, and the company remains committed to providing updates as required by law. Motorsport Games, which holds licenses for major events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, also manages popular simulation platforms rFactor 2 and KartKraft.

While the company has seen some financial improvement, including an 8.2% revenue increase in Q2 2024, it faces liquidity challenges and is exploring strategic options to secure the necessary funding. Despite this, its stock has shown significant volatility, reflecting both investor concerns and potential opportunities for future growth.
