NASCAR 26 supports racing wheels on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but compatibility depends heavily on the platform and hardware being used. iRacing Studios confirms that many PC wheels work out of the box and that additional XInput, GameInput and DirectInput devices can be mapped manually, while Thrustmaster has already published NASCAR 26 compatibility for several of its PlayStation and Xbox racing wheels. Fanatec, Logitech, MOZA and SIMAGIC users have a less complete official compatibility picture, particularly when it comes to model-specific Force Feedback and advanced features.
Wheel support is particularly important in NASCAR 26 because iRacing Studios has revised both its control calibration and Force Feedback systems compared with NASCAR 25. Early impressions have generally pointed toward improved steering detail and weight, but hardware behavior can still vary substantially between wheelbases and platforms.
The situation is also different on PC and console. PC users have access to NASCAR 26’s manual input mapping system, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S generally depend on hardware that is officially compatible with the platform and correctly recognized by the game.

NASCAR 26 Wheel Support on PC
iRacing Studios provides the clearest general compatibility information for the PC version of NASCAR 26.
According to the official NASCAR 26 FAQ, the game ships with many racing wheels working out of the box. However, the developer also acknowledges that it cannot provide predefined support for every wheel and peripheral available on PC.
The important part is that NASCAR 26 allows players to create mappings for devices using:
- XInput
- GameInput
- DirectInput
Manual configuration is available through Options > Input Mapping. This significantly expands potential hardware compatibility beyond the wheels that ship with predefined profiles.
That means a PC wheel not explicitly listed by its manufacturer as a NASCAR 26 device may still be usable if Windows and the game recognize its inputs. However, basic input recognition should not automatically be treated as confirmation that Force Feedback, LEDs, displays, rotary encoders or other manufacturer-specific functions will operate correctly.
| Brand | NASCAR 26 Status | Relevant Hardware |
|---|---|---|
| Thrustmaster | Official compatibility confirmed for multiple models | T598, T300RS, T248R, T248, T128 |
| Fanatec | PC mapping available in principle | CSL DD, ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, GT DD Pro, Podium DD |
| Logitech | PC mapping available in principle | G29, G920, G923, RS50, G PRO Racing Wheel |
| MOZA | PC mapping available in principle | R5, R5 Pro, R9, R12, R16 Ultra |
| SIMAGIC | PC mapping available in principle | Alpha EVO Sport, Alpha EVO and Alpha EVO Pro |
Officially Confirmed Thrustmaster Wheels
Thrustmaster currently provides the strongest manufacturer-level NASCAR 26 compatibility documentation.
Its support pages explicitly list NASCAR 26 for several PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S racing wheels. This does not necessarily mean every Thrustmaster feature is supported in NASCAR 26, but it does provide direct manufacturer-level confirmation for compatible models.
| Thrustmaster Wheel | Platform | Status |
|---|---|---|
| T598 — Amazon alternative | Compatible platform version | Officially listed |
| T300RS | PlayStation 5 / PC | Officially listed |
| T248R | Compatible platform version | Officially listed |
| T248 | Xbox Series X|S / PC | Officially listed |
| T128 Xbox | Xbox Series X|S / PC | Officially listed |
| T128 PlayStation | PlayStation 5 / PC | Officially listed |
Thrustmaster’s wider compatibility documentation also covers additional established models depending on platform. However, the models above are particularly relevant for current buyers because they cover everything from relatively inexpensive entry-level hardware to Direct Drive.
The T598 is especially interesting for NASCAR 26 because it provides a current Direct Drive route into the Thrustmaster ecosystem. Buyers can also check the T598 on Amazon.
At the more established end of the range, the T300RS remains a belt-driven PlayStation/PC option, while the T248 and T128 Xbox provide lower-cost routes for Xbox users.
NASCAR 26 Shifter Support
Shifter compatibility is more complicated than wheel recognition because it depends on the peripheral, connection method, platform and game implementation.
There is at least one particularly relevant officially supported option: the Thrustmaster TH8S Shifter is listed for NASCAR 26 within Thrustmaster’s ecosystem.
On console, the TH8S generally connects through compatible Thrustmaster hardware rather than operating as an arbitrary standalone USB shifter. Exact connection requirements therefore depend on the wheelbase and platform being used.
For PC users, NASCAR 26’s broader input mapping system may allow additional standalone shifters to be configured. However, the official NASCAR 26 documentation does not currently provide a comprehensive model-by-model list covering every third-party shifter.
What About Clutch Pedal Support?
Clutch support remains less clearly documented than basic steering and pedal input.
Several compatible racing-wheel ecosystems include three-pedal sets, and NASCAR 26’s PC input mapping system allows individual axes to be assigned. However, iRacing Studios has not published a detailed compatibility chart explaining clutch behavior across every wheel, pedal set and platform.
For this reason, clutch recognition should not be treated as universally confirmed simply because a three-pedal set is connected.
The same caution applies to standalone USB pedals on PC. NASCAR 26’s DirectInput support makes more complex configurations possible in principle, but individual hardware still needs to be verified.
Fanatec NASCAR 26 Support
Fanatec hardware is particularly relevant to NASCAR and oval sim racing because the ecosystem spans inexpensive Direct Drive equipment through high-torque premium systems.
The main current options include the CSL DD QR2 and CSL DD Ready2Race, ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, Gran Turismo DD Pro and Podium DD.
At the time of writing, however, Fanatec has not published a comprehensive NASCAR 26 compatibility page covering its current wheelbase range.
On PC, this does not necessarily prevent Fanatec hardware from working. NASCAR 26 supports manual mapping for compatible DirectInput devices, meaning a recognized Fanatec base can potentially be configured through the game’s Input Mapping menu.
