On April Fool’s Day, the 1st of April, Fanatec’s CEO published the launch of a reduced base Podium DD 0.5 as a joke for that day. Evidently it was not a shot in the air, many users wanted such a release to be a reality, which has ratified the development that Fanatec has been doing for months and with a brief video trailer confirmed today.
Apart from the fact that the video is merely anecdotal, what is given is a name to this new range of products that make us assume that there will be a stepper motor (cheaper to produce than the motors of the Podium series) and that its price will be looking to enter the mid-range that now Thrustmaster, Logitech and the ClubSport series of the same Fanatec are disputing.
Presumably it will be compatible with the entire range of CSL products that make up the Bavarian brand’s entry-level ecosystem.
Will 350 euros set the new standard? We’ll see…
See you on the track!
