On Friday, 21 October 2022, Studio 397 released the new in-game store for the PC racing simulation rFactor 2 . This is a new development that takes up the criticism and suggestions of the previous rF2 Steam Store, which was considered rather confusing and complicated.
The biggest improvements and highlights are that the design is now uniform and contributes to easy navigation through the content. In addition, it is now easier to see what game content is already available. Based on this, the new store will now also visualise the best deals and after a purchase, the new game content will be directly downloaded and installed to be used afterwards.
rF2 owners who prefer to download new game content without subsequently restarting the simulation must activate the “enable downloads while in game” option in the Steam settings.
“Starting with a visual upgrade with a much more appealing aesthetic, simplifying and cleaning up our groupings and packages to allow for quick and easy browsing, and adding new features to help current and new players quickly and easily understand what content is already in their current library, simply put we have overhauled the look and feel of the shop. The overall shop experience should feel fresh, vibrant and much, much more user-friendly than it ever has before in rFactor 2 ,” the studio concludes.
“One of the main goals of the new shop page is to help our players find the best deals on any combination of content. We want to help our players avoid duplicate purchases and give them the ability to make smart buying decisions that reduce unnecessary spending and content fragmentation, while giving them the ability to easily get a complete view of everything they own, have in their cart, and what they can buy in the future.”
