Next Level Racing Launches $179 GTLite Air Foldable Cockpit

Next Level Racing has officially launched the GTLite Air Foldable Cockpit, a new entry-level sim racing cockpit designed for drivers who want a compact, affordable and easy-to-store setup. Announced on September 14, 2026, the GTLite Air becomes the brand’s new best-value racing cockpit, with US pricing set at $179 and global availability scheduled between September and October 2026.

The new cockpit is aimed at first-time sim racers, casual users and anyone with limited space at home. Next Level Racing says the GTLite Air can be set up in under 10 seconds and folded away again in under 10 seconds with compatible electronics still attached. That makes it a clear space-saving option for players using apartments, bedrooms or shared gaming areas where a permanent cockpit is not practical.

What the GTLite Air Offers

Next Level Racing positions the GTLite Air as the next step in its accessible GT-style cockpit range. The frame uses a lightweight, ultra-compact folding design while maintaining what the company describes as an authentic GT driving position. The goal is to offer a complete cockpit experience without pushing buyers into the larger and more expensive end of the sim racing market.

One of the key features is the new SIMAERO Mesh seat, which is designed to improve ventilation and comfort during longer sessions. The seat also includes adjustable backrest height and seat-fabric tension, allowing users to tune their driving position more precisely. Up front, the wheel deck offers up to 30 degrees of angle adjustment and 60 mm of forward-and-back movement.

The GTLite Air also includes a 4 mm wheel plate, a full-coverage steel pedal plate, wheel clamp spacers and a dedicated shifter mount that can be installed on either the left or right side. According to Next Level Racing, the cockpit supports major belt-driven wheelbases, entry-level Direct Drive systems and clamp-mounted electronics. That should make it a relevant option for users running popular beginner and lower-midrange sim racing hardware.

Designed for Affordable Sim Racing Setups

Pricing is one of the most important parts of the launch. Next Level Racing has set the GTLite Air at $179 in the United States, while global pricing starts at $149 USD, with regional prices including €159 in Europe, £149 in the UK, $249 CAD in Canada, $249 AUD in Australia and ¥29,000 in Japan. That places it firmly in the affordable end of the cockpit market.

The company is also promoting the cockpit as compatible with its HF8 and HF8 Pro Haptic Feedback Gaming Pads, which can be fitted beneath the seat for extra immersion. While that will not turn the GTLite Air into a full motion platform, it does give buyers a simple upgrade path if they want to add tactile feedback later. For newer sim racers, that kind of expandability can be an important selling point.

With the GTLite Air, Next Level Racing is clearly targeting users who want more than a wheel stand but do not have the room or budget for a heavy full-size cockpit. The foldable format, low entry price and support for entry-level Direct Drive hardware should give it broad appeal among casual racers and newcomers alike. If the real-world rigidity matches the convenience promised on paper, the GTLite Air could become one of the more interesting affordable cockpit launches of the year.
