Oschersleben is Coming to iRacing

In true iRacing fashion, they have hinted that the German circuit will be added to the simulator next week. This is due to a photo they published of the previously announced Porsche Mission R, which shows the car in an unusual pit lane. They were able to identify the pitlane as the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben thanks to users.

Furthermore, a few hours later, the same iRacing twitter account posted a tweet with only the word “oschersleben” visible. While this is not an official confirmation that such content will be available next week, they have done it before. As a result, the track will almost certainly be available for purchase in week 13.

The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is a 3.696-kilometer-long racetrack with widths ranging from 11 to 13 meters and elevation changes of 23 meters. The circuit is in Oschersleben, Börde, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Magdeburg, Germany. Its relatively flat contours create a smooth and fast circuit, with its first 90-degree turn standing out as the most contentious element of the entire circuit.

It was the fourth permanent circuit in Germany, following the Nürburgring, Hockenheimring, and Sachsenring, when it opened on July 25, 1997 as Motopark Oschersleben. From 2001 to 2004, the FIA European Touring Car Championship was held at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, and from 2005 to 2011, the World Touring Car Championship was held there.

See you on the track!
