The indie off-road adventure Over the Hill continues to attract attention from exploration enthusiasts thanks to its unique blend of classic vehicle driving, cooperative multiplayer gameplay, and breathtaking natural landscapes inspired by the golden age of cross-country expeditions. Following the release of its Steam demo, the development team has shared a new update focused on improving the player experience and addressing one of the community’s biggest concerns: performance.

An Off-Road Adventure Inspired by the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s

Over the Hill transports players into an open world where exploration takes center stage. The game features a wide variety of iconic vehicles inspired by the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, challenging players to navigate difficult roads, rough terrain, and stunning natural environments.

As players progress through the map, they can discover portals leading to new regions, complete objectives, and unlock additional content. The Latest Update Brings Quality-of-Life Improvements and Important Fixes

Alongside its latest development update, the team has released a new patch for the demo that introduces several quality-of-life improvements and addresses a number of issues reported by the community.

One of the most notable changes is the complete removal of the fog of war when an area is fully completed, making it easier for players to view the regions they have already explored.

The update also fixes several multiplayer-related issues, including bugs that occasionally prevented the host from releasing the winch, accessing merchants, or interacting with scenic viewpoints. Additional fixes address problems with the server browser, the fast-travel system, and various environmental elements.

The patch also removes invisible collision barriers near the waterfalls in Emerald Lake and resolves visual issues affecting both Steam Deck users and players using ultrawide monitor setups. Minor localization improvements for Russian and Chinese have also been included.
