Philipp Eng – Sim Racing Setup

Philipp Eng is an Austrian Driver of the BMW factory that has been linked to the brand for many years and has competed in multiple competitions and categories. In the BMW channel, from mid-2020 we have a small video in which Eng showed us his simulator in times of confinement. Although now some components have evolved into others of higher category (those CSW bases are no longer sold) we can get an idea that the Sim Racing helps many drivers to keep the instinct.

And not only that, Eng has shown in iRacing that simRacing is especially good for him by achieving many victories with his BMW teammates who have also participated in tests and special events. For them it is not just a passing amusement, as they hone their competitive skills ahead of the season.

Much more important with these branded drivers who are subject to drastic changes during the seasons, having to combine different vehicles, like this past season when Eng has raced with front-wheel drive electric cars and in the North American IMSA with a BMW M8 GTE.

Philipp has a setup based mainly on Fanatec, whose cockpit and seat belong to Sim-Lab.eu. Base, pedals, shifter and handbrake are from Fanatec. As we see it is complemented with a 49-inch curved Samsung monitor and for easy maneuverability in the seat, a Logitech keyboard and Astro as audio equipment. Complete the set a PC to move everything with the necessary fluidity.
