Pierre Gasly – Sim Racing Setup

Pierre Gasly’s F1 career has been a relative rollercoaster. After climbing the usual single-seater ladder to the premier class, his performances at the former Toro Rosso placed him at Red Bull as Max Verstappen‘s teammate with the enormous responsibility of matching his performance. As we later found out, Max’s performance is hardly matched by any of his teammates, and all have ended up falling out in one way or another, except perhaps Ricciardo… but that’s another melon not to be opened here.

Gasly returned to Toro Rosso in the second half of 2019 to put in creditable performances and establish himself at the small Italian team owned by Red Bull. Chopping here and there good performances and even podiums and victories, he has been systematically leaving his teammates behind and becoming a nuisance for cars that half the grid.

As far as we know he also gives strong to simRacing, virtual motorsport, car racing or whatever you want to call it. He has a good material and it is noted that at least, if not himself, he has a good advisor for this field. He is currently showing us a single 49-inch monitor, but he has been using triples until recently.

Pierre has hydraulic pedals from SimTag, a custom cockpit from RaceSeat and a Simucube 2 Pro. Also, and this is where he differs from some of his peers, he has 2DOF actuators that allow him to be much more immersive. The wheel is a GPX from Precision Sim Engineering that he handles with AlpineStars gloves from the same brand as his boots. He completes it with the usual tools for streaming if needed. A PC completes the set to move everything with the necessary fluidity.
