We already know that VR is something that fits driving simulators like a glove, but until today no one had pointed out so directly that simracers were one of their target customers as Pimax has done today. It has been the Pimax Frontier video, who has put us in the spotlight with the announcement of its close collaboration with iRacing for the development of its new HMD.
As we know, Pimax hasn’t been able to make what is called a clean lap with its headsets until now, but the announced features of this one sound like they could hit the mark this time and get a piece of the pie. In addition we should add the possible optimization for driving simulators if the price is accessible to our wallet.
Some of its features are:
- 12k
- 200 degrees of FOV
- 0 distortions
- PC VR + standalone
- wigig
- wifi 6
- native cable
Naturally all this doesn’t come cheap, and if in last week’s show we already previewed what Varjo was bringing to the table for simracers, this goes even a bit further with a starting price of $2399.
