The Gran Turismo 7 GTWS World Finals are underway in Monaco and that’s left time for some of the industry’s most relevant media (not us to ask around and sit down with Kazunori Yamauchi to ask him about the state of things.
Given Sony’s exclusive franchise conversion landscape, one of the most pressing questions recently has been whether Gran Turismo 7 will be released on PC, to which Kazunori responded with a hopeful: I think so, or consider so.
“There are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”
Kazunori explains that they need to ensure that the target platform can run the requirements that they have needed to carry over to the PS5 releases, referring to 4K and constant 60 FPS, but it’s also worth noting that the conversion work for the PS4 output has been very good.
This would naturally open up a completely different range of players and audiences than we’re used to on PC, which may be necessary given the hobby’s alleged slump after two years of enclosures and restrictions.
According to GT Planet, the full interview will have more topics and talking points about the series’ current state and future after the Monaco event. Here’s the original link.
