Porsche Launches 2026 iRacing Championship With Real-World Driving Prizes

Porsche Launches 2026 iRacing Championship With Real World Driving Prizes

Porsche has launched the 2026 Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB, giving sim racers another route from iRacing competition towards both higher-level esports and real-world driving. The five-event championship begins on October 20 with up to 44 drivers racing the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, while the category champions will earn a driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone.

The 2026 season marks the fourth edition of the championship, which Porsche runs in partnership with Motorsport UK Esports. Once again, it serves as an entry point into Porsche’s wider Virtual Motorsport Pyramid, with the overall winner earning a place on the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB grid.

Registration and qualification are now open ahead of the first event at Donington Park later this month.

The 2026 championship will be contested entirely through iRacing, with drivers using the virtual Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR. The field can accommodate up to 44 competitors divided between Pro and Am categories according to their iRating.

Porsche is using fixed setups throughout the championship to create a more level playing field and place greater emphasis on driving performance. Each event consists of a one-hour practice session, 10 minutes of qualifying and two 30-minute races.

The results of Race One will determine the starting grid for Race Two, creating a straightforward two-race format across each of the five Tuesday evening events. With 10 races in total, the championship runs for just under a month before concluding at Brands Hatch on November 17.

Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB 2026 calendar

  • October 20: Donington Park Grand Prix – Rounds 1 & 2
  • October 27: Fan Vote Circuit – Rounds 3 & 4
  • November 3: Silverstone Grand Prix – Rounds 5 & 6
  • November 10: Oulton Park International – Rounds 7 & 8
  • November 17: Brands Hatch Grand Prix – Rounds 9 & 10

One notable change for 2026 is the inclusion of an international wildcard circuit. Rather than being selected directly by Porsche, the venue will be decided by a fan vote before the October 27 event.

The remaining rounds use virtual recreations of British circuits also associated with Porsche’s real-world racing programmes, including Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Porsche Sprint Challenge GB.

Real-world Porsche driving prizes for the champions

The championship offers more than a conventional esports trophy. Porsche has confirmed that the winners of both the Pro and Am categories will receive a real-world driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone.

The category champions will be able to drive road-going Porsche models including the Porsche 911 and Cayman, while also receiving physical championship trophies.

The overall winner receives an additional opportunity further up Porsche’s esports ladder: a place on the grid for the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB. Porsche describes Sprint Challenge GB as an entry route into higher-level virtual competition, with previous drivers already progressing through its Virtual Motorsport Pyramid.

Additional prizes will also be awarded to three drivers from each category who compete across the complete 2026 season, although Porsche has not yet detailed exactly what those prizes will include.

A direct route into Porsche’s esports structure

Porsche has increasingly connected its sim racing programmes with progression opportunities rather than treating each championship as an isolated esports series. The Sprint Challenge GB sits below the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB and provides less experienced drivers with a structured path into more competitive events.

That strategy is also visible at the top end of Porsche’s current esports programme. The 2026 Porsche Esports Supercup has introduced its own route towards real motorsport, with selected drivers from the World Championship progressing through a Shoot-Out and ultimately competing for a Porsche Motorsport-supported real-world racing season in 2027.

The Sprint Challenge GB offers a more accessible first step. Its iRating-based Pro and Am divisions, fixed setups and GT4 machinery are designed to give a broader range of iRacing competitors an opportunity to enter Porsche’s esports ecosystem.

How to watch the 2026 championship

All five events will be broadcast live through Porsche’s Twitch channel and RaceSpot TV on YouTube, with commentary and post-race driver interviews.

Porsche says audiences for the championship have grown consistently since its introduction in 2023. The 2026 season will again combine online competition with opportunities that extend beyond the simulator, whether through progression to Carrera Cup GB esports or real-world driving at Silverstone.

The opening two races take place at Donington Park on October 20, 2026, before the championship visits its fan-selected wildcard circuit one week later.

Full championship information and registration details are available through the official Porsche Motorsport announcement.
