We summarize what we already have about next Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992 in iRacing. The Porsche GT3 Cup 2021 992 will arrive to iRacing in September, for Season 4.

On the heels of the release of the Porsche 911 GT3 R in June, iRacing and Porsche are pleased to reveal that the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) will also join the service in time for the 2021 Season 4 build in September. The latest generation of vehicle used in the global Porsche Supercup single-make competition joins a robust lineup of Porsche LMP1, GTE, GT3, and GT4 cars already on iRacing.

“iRacing is proud to welcome the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup to the sim for September,” said iRacing executive vice president Steve Myers. “Our lineup of Porsche vehicles has always proven quite popular across special events, public series, and hosted races, and we expect the updated 911 GT3 Cup car to be similarly well-received among iRacers around the world.”

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) packs a 510-horsepower punch and introduces a fresh slate of upgrades from its predecessor. Besides an increase in power in its 4.0-liter flat-six powerplant, included in the evolution from the 991.2 generation model are a new chassis design with increased aluminum usage, double wishbone front suspension, a new electronic shift system, safety features, and more. The real-world version of the car made its debut in time for the 2021 Porsche Supercup season.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) will hit the track on iRacing for the first time on September 4, with a special event featuring content creators competing in a fun-oriented race at Hockenheim. Tune in to twitch.tv/Porsche at 18:00 GMT (2PM ET) to watch the action. For more information on Porsche’s real-world and sim racing motorsports initiatives, visit http://motorsports.porsche.com. New team member.

With the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, a new team member is standing by: for our customer racing teams, our motorsport fans and for everyone who loves sports cars. They can all expect more performance and more action – the ideal continuation of our dream of perfect race cars.

Ready for peak performance.

The race track is where the sense of team spirit can really be felt. The first Porsche One-Make-Series with a 911 took place three decades ago, and every race weekend since then has seen vast numbers of motorsport racers compete against one another. Their team partner on the most thrilling race tracks in the world is always the same: the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. For young, aspiring talents and experienced professionals alike, this race car is ideal for chasing down best times.

Many possibilities.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the most versatile race car of Porsche Motorsport. Because it can be used by the novice drivers in the Porsche Racing Experience, but can also be called into action for national and international One-Make-Series. For the 2021 season, these exclusively include the Carrera Cups Asia, Benelux, Germany, France and North America, as well as the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The vehicle will also be used in legendary endurance races, such as the 24h of Nürburgring.

Special vehicle design.

The purpose of Dream Spirit is also reflected in the design. For the first time the new race car is being delivered in GT Silver Metallic. A color which on the one hand emphasises the sportiness and on the other hand has historical significance in motorsport. A closer look reveals countless race tracks where the new 911 GT3 Cup will take to the starting line in the inaugural season. Another design highlight is the stripe running across the race car. Already a feature of the 911 RSR, this line represents a red thread, or blue in the case of the 911 GT3 Cup, that has long run through the timeless design of the 911 family.

Enhanced performance.

The 4.0-litre, six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine provides 375kW (510PS) of power in the new generation; a clear indicator of its intended purpose: to take part in races and to win. The new 911 GT3 Cup is geared up for success on the race track, featuring a six-speed sequential dog-type transmission with a new electronic shift actuator, more downforce, a double wishbone front suspension concept that is typical of race cars, and optional available ABS aids or Porsche Motorsport traction control.
