Project Cars developer Slightly Mad Studios announced in a recent tweet that the first two installments of the franchise will be discontinued in the coming months. The first installment will be discontinued on October 3, and the second installment will be discontinued on September 21, this year. This is due to track and vehicle licensing issues that are about to expire.

Everyone who has purchased the game, both physical and digital, will be able to play it, including the multiplayer modes. So, if you still want to buy the game before it becomes practically impossible, we advise you to do so as soon as possible.
For many people (including myself), this franchise was their introduction to the world of simracing, so seeing the first two installments disappear is heartbreaking. Especially for the second installment, which vastly improved on the first. Currently, Project Cars costs around $5 (with a 70% discount) and the sequel costs around $60. Although they’ll most likely do some pretty big deals closer to the day it’s pulled from all stores.
