Straight4 Games is making waves with its upcoming racing simulator, Project Motor Racing (formerly GTRevival), which is shaping up to be something special. With 70% of the team behind Project Cars 2 and veterans from GTR 2, there’s a lot of excitement building around the project.

However, there have been some concerns, particularly regarding the switch from the Unreal Engine 5.4 to the GIANTS game engine—best known for powering Farming Simulator. This change has led to a notable downgrade in graphics quality, but visual fidelity may not be the game’s main focus compared to other sims like Assetto Corsa or Raceroom.

To alleviate concerns, Straight4 recently released the first episode in a new Roots video series, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at Project Motor Racing. In this episode, the team explains how they are integrating their new physics engine into the GIANTS engine. Special appearances include ex-Stig Ben Collins, who showcases the Lister Storm GT, a car that has become symbolic of the game.

With a planned release in 2025, Project Motor Racing promises to deliver an engaging racing experience, even if some visual compromises had to be made along the way. Fans can look forward to more updates as the development progresses.

Happy Racing!
