Project Motor Racing: Settings for Asetek Wheel Bases

PMR Toyota GR10Hybrid SaoPaulo 3

Project Motor Racing has not been what many of us expected, but that’s not a reason to not enjoy its features and car classes.

This guide is designed to get you started and straight into the action in this diverse racing sim.

These settings are a starting point. We recommend experimenting with them yourself to find what feels best for you.

So lets get into it:

Steering Range: 900°

Overall Force:

  • Invicta: 27 nm
  • Forte: 18 nm
  • La Prima+: 16 nm
  • La Prima: 12 nm
  • Initium+: 8 nm
  • Initium: 5.5 nm

Damping:

  • Invicta, Forte and La Prima: 15%
  • Initium series: 20%

Bumpstop Hardness:

  • Invicta, Forte, La Prima: Soft
  • Initium series: Medium

Friction:

  • Invicta, Forte and La Prima: 15%
  • Initium series: 0%

Bumpstop Range: -90°

The steering range in Project Motor Racing works best at 900°, which also matches its steering animation. However, to limit it and prevent the steering from getting too wild if you lose control, we recommend -90°.

Torque Acceleration limit:

  • Max of what your wheelbase can do

High Frequency Limit: No Limit

In game settings:

So for PMR, there is two places you can change the settings of your steering feel.

The first we will focus on is in the settings:

Force Feedback Gain:

  • Invicta: 42%
  • Forte:  60%
  • La Prima+: 64%
  • La Prima: 77%
  • Initium+: 85%
  • Initium: 90%

Low Force Boost: 0%

Force Feedback detail:

  • 50%. This setting provides detail about the road.

Force Feedback Smoothing:

  • Invicta, Forte and La Prima: 10%
  • Initium: 15%

Force Feedback Headroom: 200%

Haptic Strength: 40%

This setting adjusts kerb strength and other haptic feedback. It’s the one to tweak if you want it more or less aggressive.

Car setup menu

There is also a second area where you can tweak your FFB, located in the car’s setup menu under “Tyres & Chassis”.

In this menu, you can make further adjustments to the FFB strength as well as different EQ settings.

If the car feels too dampened or stiff, or if the steering feels too weak or strong in general, this is a great place to adjust it.
