RENNSPORT Expands Private Lobbies to 24 Cars in Next Update

RENNSPORT Expands Private Lobbies

RENNSPORT is preparing to double the capacity of its private Custom Contests from 12 to 24 cars while extending race sessions from 30 to 60 minutes. The expanded multiplayer format has already been stress-tested on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will make its public debut at SimRacing Expo before arriving in an upcoming game update.

Competition Company confirmed the change following feedback from players and league organizers, who identified the current 12-car limit as one of the main restrictions affecting private multiplayer. Around 15% of the written responses collected after the Kings of the Ring update specifically addressed lobby capacity and session length.

RENNSPORT had previously maintained the smaller limits to protect server stability across all supported platforms. That position has now changed after closed community stress tests using 24-driver grids and 60-minute races produced stable server synchronization and consistent tick rates. The larger Custom Contests will be playable publicly for the first time at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt, which runs from October 16-18. RENNSPORT says the expanded capacity will then be released in an upcoming update following the event.

The change should be particularly significant for leagues and multi-class events, where the existing 12-driver maximum substantially limits grid size. Doubling that capacity brings private sessions closer to the larger fields expected from organized endurance and championship racing.

RENNSPORT has not yet provided a final release date for the multiplayer update, but the studio’s next major patch is also expected to address several areas highlighted by its latest community survey.

Console Graphics and Wheel Support Are Also Being Improved

Visual clarity on consoles has become the team’s most urgent graphics priority. RENNSPORT is preparing sharper image presentation and upscaling fixes for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with those improvements targeted for the next update at the end of October.

Night racing is also being revised after feedback that environments were too bright. Night scenes have been darkened and headlight beams reworked, while lighting changes introduced with Kings of the Ring that caused unwanted blue and pink colour shifts have been reverted.

Hardware support is receiving further attention as well. Dedicated baseline profiles are being developed for the Logitech RS50 and Thrustmaster T598, while the team is addressing centre-point oscillation on the Thrustmaster T300 and missing button-mapping functionality affecting Fanatec wheelbases on Xbox.

RENNSPORT is also flattening its Account Level XP curve and working on race-start performance, replay crashes and long loading times. The studio says another expansion pack will be revealed at SimRacing Expo with a complete car class alongside a separate major feature responding to community requests.
