RENNSPORT delays closed beta, focuses on improving gameplay

“Dear RENNSPORT community,”

This is how the official statement on the RENNSPORT Twitter account begins, announcing that the closed beta of the simulator we have been patiently waiting for will not be available yet.

“We are sorry, but we won’t make it in time for early February. We understand that you may feel differently when you see that the ESL R1 eSport series is about to start and wonder why the closed beta isn’t.”

Morris, RENNSPORT’s CEO, explains in the statement why this is the case.

For an eSport competition, a stable server infrastructure is needed, whereas for the closed beta, a functional system is needed that allows users to create their own servers at any time and that is simultaneously functional with multiple other servers. Also, an infrastructure is needed that supports many more players than in an eSport competition.

“We prioritize gameplay. Everything else is secondary. This means we ask for a bit more patience to have the online multiplayer functioning stably. The ESL R1 will provide us with a test that we will use to improve development.”

The official statement concludes with this message. We will be on the lookout for the 11th and 12th of February, the date on which the ESL R1 eSport competition is held in Katowice, Poland.
