RENNSPORT has revealed the KTM X-BOW GT2 as the first of three new cars coming with its upcoming Kings of the Ring DLC. The September expansion will also introduce the Nürburgring Nordschleife, while two additional cars are still waiting to be revealed. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
The KTM X-BOW GT2 is not a completely unexpected addition, as the car had already been shown as part of RENNSPORT’s 2026 plans earlier this year. Its inclusion in Kings of the Ring now confirms when players will finally be able to drive it, with the DLC currently targeted for release during September 2026. It will also become RENNSPORT’s first GT2-class car.
KTM X-BOW GT2 Brings GT2 Racing to RENNSPORT
The real-world X-BOW GT2 is one of KTM’s most extreme circuit racing cars, developed together with Reiter Engineering. It uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder Audi engine producing around 600 hp, combined with a lightweight carbon-fibre construction weighing roughly 1,000 kg before Balance of Performance adjustments. That combination gives the car a very different character from RENNSPORT’s existing GT3 and GT4 machinery.
Kings of the Ring will contain three cars and the Nürburgring Nordschleife, although RENNSPORT has not yet identified the remaining two vehicles. The standalone Nordschleife layout measures 20.830 km and features 73 corners according to RENNSPORT’s official circuit listing. The Nürburgring GP circuit and 24 Hours configuration are already represented elsewhere in the game.
Kings of the Ring Still Has More to Reveal
The September update is also expected to bring broader changes beyond new content, including improvements to Force Feedback wheel support and a significant revision of RENNSPORT’s AI behaviour. Competition Company has described AI as one of its current development priorities following community feedback, with Kings of the Ring intended to establish a stronger baseline for single-player racing. Additional bug fixes are also planned alongside the content release.
RENNSPORT has confirmed that Kings of the Ring will be included at no additional cost for Deluxe Edition owners. Pricing for the DLC as a standalone purchase has not yet been announced, and the studio says it will only publish a definitive release date once deployment is locked down. The remaining two cars should therefore be the next major pieces of the package to be revealed.
With the KTM X-BOW GT2 now confirmed, Kings of the Ring is beginning to take shape as one of RENNSPORT’s more substantial 2026 updates. The combination of a new GT2 category, the standalone Nordschleife and planned AI and Force Feedback improvements gives the September release importance beyond simply adding another DLC pack. More details, including the final two cars and exact release date, are still to come.
