The Touring Classics Part 1 expansion introduces a new lineup of legendary touring cars inspired by the golden era of 1990s motorsport, a reimagined version of the classic Hockenheimring, free content for all players, significant artificial intelligence improvements, and an extensive list of technical fixes.
As part of this update, Competition Company is also reducing the price of the RENNSPORT Standard Edition by 50%, a move aimed at welcoming more drivers to the platform and increasing participation in online racing.
Touring Classics Brings Back the Golden Age of Touring Car Racing
The highlight of this expansion is the Touring Classics Part 1 premium pack, featuring some of the most iconic touring cars from the 1990s. These machines deliver a pure mechanical driving experience, free from the electronic driving aids found in modern race cars.
The paid DLC includes four legendary racing machines:
- Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II
- BMW E30 M3
- Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI
- Mercedes-Benz C-Class V6 DTM
Each vehicle has been carefully recreated to provide a demanding driving experience where balance, precision, and throttle control are essential to unlocking their full potential.
The expansion also introduces Hockenheimring Classic Revival, a modern interpretation of the legendary German circuit that restores the famous high-speed forest straights removed during the track’s 2002 redesign. While it is not intended to be an exact recreation of the original layout, it captures the spirit of one of motorsport’s fastest and most challenging circuits.
Thermalito and New Cars Arrive as Free Content
The update isn’t limited to premium content. RENNSPORT is also expanding its free offering with new content available to every player.
Among the highlights is Thermalito, a circuit that began life as a community-made mod before being officially adapted by Nukedrop. Unlike the simulator’s laser-scanned venues, Thermalito focuses on technical flow and rewarding precise driving over outright horsepower.
Alongside the new circuit, players will also receive two free vehicles:
- HWA EVO.R
- Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport
The HWA EVO.R serves as a modern reinterpretation of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 190E, while the Porsche offers a contemporary GT4 experience built around balance and competitive performance.
More Than 370 New Liveries Expand Customization
One of the community’s most requested features was a broader selection of vehicle liveries, and this update delivers a major expansion of the customization system.
A total of 378 new liveries have been added, split between free content, paid content, and exclusive designs earned through official competition.
The new collection includes:
- 20 Touring Classics heritage liveries included with the DLC.
- 348 new RENNSPORT Cup liveries available for multiple vehicles using RENN$.
- 8 exclusive Hall of Fame liveries reserved for winners of official RENNSPORT competitions.
Artificial Intelligence Continues to Improve
Single-player racing also receives a substantial upgrade thanks to another revision of the game’s AI behavior.
The developers have focused on making computer-controlled opponents behave more naturally during races, with improvements that include:
- Better collision avoidance.
- More accurate braking and cornering calculations.
- Improved racing line discipline.
- Cleaner race starts.
- AI drivers now operate under the same physical limitations as players.
- More consistent performance across all vehicle classes.
- Smarter pit entry and exit behavior.
Although the team acknowledges there is still work to be done, they consider this update another important step toward improving the offline racing experience.
Extensive Technical Fixes and Stability Improvements
Beyond the new content, the update delivers a lengthy list of bug fixes and technical improvements throughout the simulator.
Among the most significant changes are the resolution of several critical crashes that could occur when returning to the main menu, during AI race sessions, or while running benchmark tests.
Additional improvements include:
- New moderation tools for custom competitions.
- Fixes for multiple circuits, including Sebring and Founder’s Track.
- Physics updates for the Audi R8 LMS GT4 and BMW M4 GT4.
- Garage interface improvements.
- Visual fixes for Laguna Seca and Sebring.
- Corrections affecting player profiles, leaderboards, championships, and Quick Sessions.
- Restored cosmetic items that previously failed to appear correctly.
RENNSPORT Standard Edition Gets a Permanent 50% Discount
Coinciding with the release of Touring Classics Part 1, Competition Company is permanently reducing the price of the RENNSPORT Standard Edition by 50%.
According to the studio, the goal is to grow the player base and create larger, more competitive grids across both Daily Racing events and online multiplayer competitions. The team has also confirmed that the Deluxe Edition will receive discounts during the Summer Sale scheduled for late July.
