New car and track: Praga R1 and figure 8 community meme track; 8ETA

In response to the frequent requests of the passionate sim racing community asking for different car categories other than GT3 cars, RENNSPORT is introducing the iconic Praga R1 to its roster of virtual race cars! The Praga R1, known for its impeccable design and blistering performance, will be a perfect addition to the game’s lineup of well-decorated successful vehicles.

Born out of a Discord community joke, RENNSPORT is unveiling the awaited Figure 8 Community Meme Track, called 8ETA, a unique and unofficial racetrack in style of the number 8. It is referring to the “8 Beta Keys” that some community members expected to be the given-out amount of access keys of each key drop. With tight curves, this racetrack will be a true test for the tire model in RENNSPORT, but it will deliver unexpected racing fun as this exclusive track is not comparable to classic racetracks.

Exciting new features to amplify realism

The latest Closed Beta update is packed with the following features aimed at enhancing the realism and immersion of the game:

  • Damage V1: RENNSPORT is introducing the first version of a damage model to the game, allowing players to further experience the consequences of their actions on the track. Collisions and impacts will have effects on the cars, adding a strategic element to the gameplay.
  • Improved tire rotation animation: To further replicate the feel of being on the track, RENNSPORT has included a new tire rotation animation. Players will nowhave a visual cue for their tire’s behavior, enabling them to optimize their racing lines and adapt to different track conditions.
  • Improved cut detection: In its ongoing commitment to fair competition, RENNSPORT has enhanced the cut detection system. This improvement will ensure that players follow the track limits, promoting a level playing field in online competitions.
  • Improved sound for the BMW M4 GT3, the Porsche GT3 R (992) and curbs: The game’s audio experience has been taken up a notch. The engine sounds of the BMW M4 GT3 and the Porsche GT3 R (992) have undergone an extensive update. The close cooperation with automotive partners BMW and Porsche comes into play here, as exclusive access to internal test sessions of both companies allowed the original engine sounds to be captured under real racing conditions. Furthermore, players can now enjoy the realism of driving over curbs with the optimized curb sounds.
  • Improved car movement algorithm: RENNSPORT has refined the car movement algorithm to make the driving experience even more responsive and true-to-life. Players will feel more connected to their virtual cars than before, making for a truly immersive racing adventure.

Development milestones and community feedback

Since the release of the Closed Beta two months ago, RENNSPORT has witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with over 50,000 people on the waitlist and already more than 10,000 access keys distributed to eager sim racing enthusiasts.
