SIMAGIC Offers Free 21 Nm Alpha EVO Pro Software Unlock

SIMAGIC Offers Free 21 Nm Alpha EVO Pro Software Unlock

SIMAGIC is giving selected Alpha EVO Pro owners the opportunity to increase their wheelbase from its standard 18 Nm output to 21 Nm through a free software unlock. The program is initially limited to 50 selected users, with applications open until September 15, 2026.

Announced by SIMAGIC on September 8, the program targets existing Alpha EVO Pro owners willing to share their experience with the wheelbase and participate in the company’s 21 Nm initiative.

SIMAGIC’s wording is straightforward: owners can go from 18 Nm to 21 Nm through a free software unlock, meaning the additional peak torque does not require a replacement wheelbase or a hardware modification as part of this program.

However, the first phase is not a general firmware release. SIMAGIC says 50 owners will be selected after submitting their experience with the EVO Pro and completing the associated registration form.

Alpha EVO Pro Moves From 18 Nm to 21 Nm

The Alpha EVO Pro currently sits at the top of SIMAGIC’s mainstream EVO range, alongside the 9 Nm Alpha EVO Sport and 12 Nm Alpha EVO.

Its official specification remains 18 Nm maximum torque, together with a 21-bit encoder, 20 kHz response rate, active cooling and SIMAGIC’s latest generation of force-feedback processing.

The 21 Nm program therefore represents a 3 Nm increase, or roughly 17 percent more peak torque compared with the wheelbase’s standard specification. SIMAGIC has not announced any corresponding hardware change, and the company specifically describes the additional performance as a software unlock.

Only 50 Owners in the First Phase

To take part, EVO Pro owners need to share their experience with the wheelbase and submit the relevant post through SIMAGIC’s registration process.

Applications close on September 15, 2026, with 50 users being selected for access to the 21 Nm software unlock.

This distinction is important. SIMAGIC has not confirmed that every Alpha EVO Pro owner can currently enable 21 Nm, and the company’s public product specifications continue to list the EVO Pro as an 18 Nm wheelbase.

The manufacturer has also not detailed any separate pricing structure for the upgrade, nor has it announced specific warranty, temperature or long-term operating conditions associated with the 21 Nm mode.

Until SIMAGIC publishes additional information, those details should not be assumed.

The program is nevertheless an interesting demonstration of the performance headroom available in modern direct-drive hardware. Rather than launching a replacement wheelbase, SIMAGIC is exploring additional output from the existing Alpha EVO Pro platform through software.

For current owners, the key date is September 15, when applications for the first 50-user phase close.
