For some time now, the simracing community has been buzzing about a possible new generation of wheel bases. And it seems the moment has arrived: Simucube 3 is on the way.
The anticipation is high, and rightly so: when we talk about Simucube, we’re talking about a benchmark of quality in the world of direct drive.
Official Confirmation: The Page Is Live
Until now it was all rumors and leaks, but Simucube has made a move: on its official website you can already see the message:
Simucube 3. Soon. Be the first to know when and where.
The company has even set up a form to register with your email and country/region, where fans can give their consent to receive exclusive updates. In other words: this is no longer mere speculation, the announcement of the new generation is imminent.
Rumors and Leaks
The first detail that sparked excitement were the rumored models: Sport, Pro and Ultimate, with torque levels of 15, 25 and 35 Nm respectively.
There is also talk of a redesigned control box and a new quick release system that not everyone seems thrilled about.
For many, that range opens interesting possibilities: from those looking to jump into direct drive without breaking the bank, to those who want to feel the brutality of 35 Nm in their hands (with the risk of twisting a wrist in a virtual crash ).
What Can We Really Expect?
Personally, I don’t think the main difference will be in the extra Nm. At that level, the torque is already more than enough.
What would be interesting is how Simucube integrates its ecosystem:
- Better management of compatibility with wheels and peripherals.
- Possible data and power transmission through the QR.
- Fewer boxes and cables cluttering the cockpit.
As for me, I’m just excited to see a brand like Simucube still pushing forward in a market where many thought innovation had slowed down.
See you on the track!
