Simucube Active pedals – Price Now Available

The final prices for (the) Simucube Active pedals are now available. They are, by far, the most expensive pedals we are aware of. Reservations are now open, and if you have the means, you should definitely get a set of three. Most of us have enough time to look at the pictures.

  • 1 pedal: 2418,79 euros
  • 2 pedals: 4365,80 euros
  • 3 pedals: 6298,30 euros

Here are the dates and times they were presented:

Granite Device is a pioneer in this simracing; theirs is the first commercial DD as such, and they were the first to integrate all of the electronics into the chassis of the DD itself. They have dared to reinvent such an important component of our setup as the pedals this time.

And, no, it was not surprising that Simucube released some pedals of their own design; it was a logical next step in completing their simracer hardware portfolio. The surprise was learning that these pedals, or pedals in singular, can respond to ABS and RPM inputs via a force feedback system.

As you can see in the picture, the rear pedal swingarm is mounted on a linear axis which in turn is driven by a motor connected to the software that controls everything. In this way we get the movement that for example is produced when the ABS is activated, quick and short forward and backward movements.

We mentioned that what we will really have is not the typical set of three pedals (accelerator, brake, clutch). Simucube software allows us to select which function we want to assign to each pedal, so the components of each pedal are the same because it is in fact the same pedal. The adjustment of travel, sensitivity, brake hardness, different clutch bite points and other adjustments will be made electronically as this active pedal has no springs or elastomers. According to the Active Pedal, no maintenance or replacement of components due to wear and tear is necessary.

Little else is known about the potential cost. Pre-booking will begin in December, and we will also know the price at that time. The first units are scheduled to arrive in the first few months of 2023.

We will keep you posted as more information comes to light and hopefully we will be one of the lucky few to have the chance to try them out first hand.
