Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM) will exhibit a booth at CES® 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 (local time).
In advance of CES® being opened to the public, Sony’s press conference was held on Monday, January 8 (local time). Representative Director, President and COO Izumi Kawanishi took the stage.
During the press conference, SHM announced a collaboration with Polyphony Digital Inc. a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, (Polyphony Digital; Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Kazunori Yamauchi) in real world vehicle development. The following is a summary of the announcement of this collaboration at the press conference.
Announcements
- SHM is starting a partnership with Polyphony Digital in vehicle development, with the aim of creating new value with partners by sharing vehicle information.
- The purpose of this partnership is to develop vehicles that fuse the virtual and the real, mainly in the area of human senses and emotions by combining Polyphony Digital’s simulation technology with the development of actual vehicles by SHM.
- AFEELA Prototype 2024 introduced at the press conference will be included in a patch update for Gran Turismo 7 later this year (release date TBA.) Before the vehicle is released, we would like to give an opportunity to drive the car in the game.
