Yesterday, Madrid was officially presented as a new venue and circuit for the F1 calendar starting from 2026. As always, there have been opinions for all tastes, and although I would like to delve into them, this news we bring you is more worthwhile for the moment, and you will enjoy it more.

The Madrid circuit will be located around the IFEMA fairground and will consist of 20 turns with a total length of 5.474 kilometers. It is expected to have two banked corners and a passage under the M11 with an estimated lap time of 1 minute 32 seconds.

The circuit will use both permanent and temporary sections, similar to what happens on the streets of Miami. This layout has been designed by the Italian firm Dromo, known, for example, for the redesign of Spa in 2022. It will include unique elements such as a covered paddock and hospitality areas that will use the IFEMA pavilions.

Moving on to its virtual recreation in Assetto Corsa Ultimate , we have a sketch of what the track will be like, created in just 24 hours. Don’t expect miracles, but rather a detail that will evolve over time, giving us a feeling of what the track and layout will be. Some features of the mod:

  • 32 AI support
  • Basic Night Lights on some of the street lights (but there are no ‘night running lights’ around the track as I assume the F1 race will take place in daylight)
  • Replay Cameras
  • Full compatibility with the latest PURE shaders

[…]

Is this super accurate to how the real track will be? No it’s just to give an idea of the flow of the circuit. It’s based on the public streets, merged with the track plan that was released on 23/01/2024. No more details have been released, so I have done my best with the little information that is available.
