Ian Bell paves the way for his return to the forefront of the simulation gaming world after securing a distributor for his new studio Straight4’s upcoming title. In this case, Plaion will be responsible for distribution across current platforms.
PLAION, the leading independent developer, publisher, and distributor of entertainment products, is proud to announce a recent publishing agreement with Straight4 Studios. The new studio is led by veteran racing simulation developer Ian Bell, whose resume includes titles such as Need for Speed: Shift, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends, Shift 2: Unleashed, and the GTR and Project CARS franchises.
“The highly anticipated return of one of the most iconic racing simulation development teams has been greatly reinforced by our strategic partnership with PLAION. The entire team is excited about what PLAION will bring to our game,” said Kevin Boland, Director of Development at Straight4.
The strategic partnership will focus on the development of an upcoming racing simulation title yet to be announced. The development of this game has been strengthened by many of the key talents behind the creator of Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios, who have now joined Straight4 Studios along with a team of other industry veterans.
“Our vision for this new game is a hardcore racing simulator with a commitment to providing the community with the type of simulation and modding tools they desire. PLAION immediately understood our ambition and potential, and we have full confidence that this new partnership will play a decisive role in driving the racing simulation industry to a whole new level of realism and fun,” said Ian Bell, CEO of Straight4 Studios.
“We are always looking for new partners to work with and bring something truly special to our audience. Straight4 Studios has a fantastic vision and a team with an outstanding list of games under their belt. Racing simulation fans will be watching closely,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of PLAION.
This new title will be released on PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S and will be a spiritual return to the glory days of racing simulators, while also featuring a new custom-made physics engine and cutting-edge graphics.
