Super Woden Rally Edge now has a confirmed console release date. The driving game developed by ViJuDa will launch digitally on September 2 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. A few weeks later, on October 30, physical editions will arrive for PS5 and Switch, and they will include much more than just Rally Edge itself.
The console versions had already been confirmed earlier this year, but until now there was no exact release date. Back in February, ViJuDa revealed that an external team would handle the console port and publishing, with the aim of releasing the game during the summer. Eastasiasoft later confirmed the title as part of its upcoming console lineup.
The schedule is now set. The digital version will launch on September 2, while players who prefer a boxed copy will have to wait until October 30.
The physical edition includes all three Super Woden games
The physical release is arguably the most interesting part of the announcement for players who have followed the series from the beginning. The PS5 and Nintendo Switch editions will not simply include Rally Edge.
The package will contain:
- Super Woden GP
- Super Woden GP 2
- Super Woden: Rally Edge
- The soundtracks from all three games
That effectively turns the physical release into a collection of the current Super Woden series. The first two games had already been bundled together on Nintendo Switch as the Super Woden GP Collection, released in 2024, but adding Rally Edge and all three soundtracks makes this a much more complete package.
It also makes sense as a collector’s release. Super Woden started as a relatively small independent project and has gradually built its own audience around a mix of arcade driving, car culture, and a visual style inspired by racing games from the 1990s.
Rally Edge changes the formula
Although it shares its name and much of its identity with Super Woden GP and Super Woden GP 2, Rally Edge is not simply another version of the same game with more cars.
This time, the traditional isometric camera is gone. Rally Edge uses a behind-the-car perspective, with rally stages and time trials playing a much larger role.
Several familiar Super Woden systems remain, including buying and upgrading cars, managing a garage, vehicle customization, a map-based event structure, and online leaderboards. The game also supports local multiplayer for up to four players.
The handling remains firmly arcade-focused rather than trying to become a serious rally simulator. The cars are fictional rather than officially licensed, but the progression system and car-collecting side of the experience will feel familiar to anyone who played ViJuDa’s earlier games.
Rally Edge originally launched on PC on January 15, 2026. Since then, it has received very strong feedback from Steam users, with around 96% of more than 1,400 reviews currently rated positive.
From a PC-only release to a much wider audience
When Rally Edge arrived on PC in January, the console versions were still at an early stage. ViJuDa confirmed a few weeks later that the game would follow the previous Super Woden titles and eventually make its way to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo hardware.
We now know exactly when that will happen.
The digital console release arrives on September 2. The physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch follow on October 30, bundled with Super Woden GP, Super Woden GP 2, and the soundtracks from all three games.
For players who already own Rally Edge on PC, the console launch does not change much. For those who have followed the series on consoles, or simply want a physical copy, the October edition offers a convenient way to get the full Super Woden lineup in one package.
