Telemetry Now Available in Gran Turismo 7

A week (or so) ago, news broke that an API had been discovered that provided Gran Turismo 7 telemetry, and now we can enjoy it live on a PC using the free software that has already been released.

The API contains enough data for the motion simulators to interact, so variations in the next updates appear unlikely due to the large number of peripherals that would be left inactive. We’ll see what Polyphony Digital does with this discovery, whether it layers it or leverages it.

As is always the case, the fear is that macros will be used to gain an advantage. I can think of hundreds of ways to do evil and even fewer ways to do good. Despite the fact that examples of potential dashboards for external peripherals have already been seen. The code and application are available on the user’s github and, thanks to the MIT license, can be freely used and modified.
