As the feature is slated for release sometime in 2025, it promises to bring a fresh and dynamic experience to the world of sim-racing.
RaceRoom’s October 2024 Update
While the drifting feature is expected to arrive in 2025, KW Studios is already working hard on improving RaceRoom with regular updates. The latest October 2024 update, released on October 15th, introduces several performance optimizations, including performance boosts, Triple Screen and VR fixes, and free track updates for the Hungaroring and Salzburgring. Additionally, there’s a major LED system overhaul for the Porsche 911 GT3, along with other general tweaks and fixes aimed at refining the user experience.
These updates show KW Studios’ continued commitment to optimizing the core RaceRoom experience, while simultaneously developing exciting new features like drifting.
Drifting’s Official Launch in 2025
KW Studios has planned the full release of the drifting feature for 2025. The development team is working to ensure the drifting physics and gameplay mechanics are finely tuned, providing an engaging and realistic experience for sim-racers. Once live, it could open the door to new drift-specific challenges, tracks, and cars, enriching RaceRoom and broadening its appeal to the drifting community.
