  1. Except the big fact that unless you are one of the few ultra high iRating top split teams, you have absolutely zero chance of getting into the top split or winning any of the prizes.
Other than that I’m sure it will be fun!

iRacing should consider that these events with incentive for prizes and community recognition essentially focus on the top few percent of the entire service membership, excluding virtually everyone else from having any incentive to race other than for the sake of racing.

I’m excited for the event and to watch some good racing on the live stream, but really how much effort would it take to make this event something for more than just a small handful of people in terms of racing for ‘prizes’?

What’s a Fanatec BMW wheel cost? About 3 members annual subscription fees, essentially peanuts.

They could easily make these events exciting for the majority, it makes me wonder about the midset of their marketing/customer service team.
We are essentially talking about ‘trinket’ prizes in the grand scheme of things (a Fanatec rim for example), and iRacing could do much more in making these events exciting and encouraging for the majority of average racers in the service.

It’s not a case of ‘get better’, because that’s simply not possible for the majority for a variety of reasons.

  2. Or did I miss the part where a ‘random’ split winning team will win the wheel?
Since everything before that was focused on top split incentives, perhaps I misread?
