The Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series coming to iRacing

Some competitions keep join in the virtual world, like the VCO that is going to organize their VLN races at Nordschleife in iRacing to be able to continue with at least some training and competition routines. Here the official announcement.

The “Digital Nürburgring Long Distance Series powered by VCO” takes off. After the great success of the virtual counterpart to the real races on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, the VLN has decided to let eight more dates follow in the 2020 season. Initially intended as a replacement for the races in the Green Hell that were cancelled due to the situation surrounding the Corona virus, a no less exciting digital racing series is now emerging, which should provide even more thrilling motorsport and good entertainment in the future.

“Moving the season opener of the Nürburgring Endurance Series to the virtual world for well-known reasons was the right decision. We are absolutely overwhelmed by the response,” says Christian Stephani, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG.

“Accumulated more than 200,000 video views in the livestreams and clips on different channels underpin the many positive feedbacks. The Corona virus keeps the world in check. However, right now we are not holding back, but see the prevailing crisis also as an opportunity to strengthen our presence in the virtual segment. Our goal is to establish a digital counterpart to the real Nürburgring Endurance Series in the long term”.
